PREGHIERA
piccola liturgia gentile in quattro movimenti per corpo e luce.
“I often look at the sky.
I look at it in the morning
hours of light and the whole sky clings to my eyes and comes to drink,
and I cling to it, like a plant that eats the light.”
M. Gualtieri
Preghiera is an immersive journey, inviting the audience to excavate the ancient roots of human expression. Through embodied prayer, movement, and gesture, this performance offers a portal to one’s innermost depths.
Departing from conventional dance, “Preghiera” presents a minimalist, experimental exploration. Within a stark, white square, the dancer’s body becomes a living canvas, tracing a cyclical path of gesture, guided by a primal, hypnotic rhythm.”
The electric bass, with its deep, enveloping sound, creates a suspended, introspective atmosphere, becoming the connective tissue between movement and space. The dialogue between the dancing body and the sound is a fundamental element of the performance, creating a unique and immersive sensory experience.
“Preghiera” is not merely a spectacle to watch but an experience to live. The audience is invited to participate actively, moving their own ritual gesture through space and becoming an integral part of the performance.
Thanks to the improvisational nature of instant composition, each performance of “Preghiera” is unique and unrepeatable. Through a constant dialogue with space and sound, creates an open-ended work in continuous evolution, adapting to every context and every audience.
